Berkeley is a charter member of BTWH. Thanks to generous funding from the Townsend Center for the Humanities, the members of the Berkeley group are able to meet on a biweekly basis to discuss texts, attend film screenings and other events together, and invite scholars for public lectures. Following Prof. Anton Kaes’s founding contribution to this international research network, the Berkeley group has been composed primarily of graduate students. In the past, members have hailed from the Departments of German, Film & Media, Comparative Literature, and History. Any current graduate students and visiting scholars at Berkeley are welcome to participate in meetings. Those interested in doing so should consult our Townsend Working Groups site and our bCourses project site for the contact information of the Berkeley group’s current coordinators.
